He leaves behind his wife Patricia of 62 years of marriage and four children. Daughter Angela Wolfgang, her husband Captain Michael Wolfgang (USN Ret), their son Christopher and daughter Sarina with husband Ryan Zaremba. Son, John Miller, wife Melissa and granddaughter Emma Kate. Son, Jay Miller, wife Martha Laura and grandsons, Jason and Scott Miller. He was the owner of Peak Enterprises, Inc in North Carolina where he lived for over 40 years. Most of the homes he built were on Beech Mountain and in Banner Elk, NC. The owners of these homes still remain close friends; some became family.

We love him and miss him terribly.

His wish was to celebrate his life rather than have a service.

My sincere condolences to the Miller family. John and Pat were two of my closest friends on Beech Mountain when I lived there! John and I had great times together, and the whole Miller family supported me throughout my tenure as GM of the Beech Mtn. Club. I will forever cherish my friendship with John! He was a great husband to Pat, father to his sons and daughters, and well respected in the community! Pat was his rock and took great care of him the past several years. RIP John! I will miss you a lot!
