John Ralph Miller Jr.

John Ralph Miller, Jr.,82 of Wildwood, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in The Villages, Florida.

John was a pastor, teacher, singer, author, and more. Born to Ralph and Hazel Miller in Wildwood, Florida on October 6, 1943, he was the eldest of four siblings. John answered the call to ministry as a young man and pastored all over the state of Florida in the Churches of God denomination before assuming his final pastorate, God's Divine Purpose Church, in Wildwood. Hailed as a "teacher of teachers," John was a lifelong learner who earned a Doctorate in Ministry, spoke at Oxford University, and authored a book on the sufferings of Job called The Job Syndrome. He directed choirs and bands, wrote songs, installed public address sound systems, performed concerts, and made television appearances. John loved to eat at good restaurants. He appreciated classic cars, quality cheese, handmade knives, and beautiful and virtuosic music.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Denmark Miller; his son, With Nellie Ledbetter Miller: Gabriel (Samantha); his grandsons: Bowden and Jude; his brother: Lemuel (DaVonne); his sister: Alethea Williams (Robert); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Hazel, and his brother, Troy.

Services will be held in Linden, Florida on Friday, January 2, 2026:

Viewing and Visitation: 11:15 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. at The Bridge at Linden (Church of God)

Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. at The Bridge at Linden (Church of God)

Committal Service: Immediately following the funeral, at Linden Cemetery
