John "Jack" Miska

John P. "Jack" Miska, 66, passed away peacefully at his home in Antioch, IL, on Sunday, October 12, 2025. Born on March 2, 1959, in Chicago, IL, Jack was a cherished resident of the Lakeview and Bridgeport areas for most of his life. He dedicated almost 50 years of service to Sloan Valve Company in Franklin Park, where he took great pride in his work.
In recent years, Jack relocated to The Chain O' Lakes in Antioch, embracing the joys of lake life with his loved ones. He cherished moments spent with his pride and joys: his son Jeff, daughter-in-law Lindsey, and his two grandchildren, Madison and Johnny.
In his final month, Jack embarked on what he called "a trip of a lifetime" to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. Throughout his life, he enjoyed many incredible adventures, including travels to Russia, Europe, and China. Despite his far-reaching travels, Jack's heart always belonged to his hometown of Chicago. He created countless memories with friends in Lakeview, relishing dinners, drinks, concerts, and cheering for the Cubs.
Jack was the eldest of six siblings: Janet (Blake) Heffelfinger, Peter, Mark (Maria), Jeannie, Matt, and Marianne (Brian) Napp. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Roseanne Miska.
A chapel service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Graceland Cemetery, 4001 N. Clark St. in Chicago, followed by a celebration of life at Sidetrack Bar, 3349 N Halsted St. in Chicago. Arrangements are entrusted to Burnett-Dane Funeral Home in Libertyville.
