John Anthony Morano, age 68, passed away on Tuesday evening, September 16, 2025 as he walked the Ocean Springs/Biloxi bridge with his brother, David, and friend, TJ.

John was born on December 3, 1956 in New Orleans, LA, and was a long-time resident of Ocean Springs. He graduated from Ocean Springs High School where he was a tremendous athlete. He later received an Architectural Drafting and Design Degree from Jackson County Junior College, which he applied as a Designer at Ingalls Shipbuilding for 22 years. He was later employed in Maintenance at the Beau Rivage, Biloxi.

He was a loving son, brother and friend. He was an artist and loved swimming, biking, traveling, camping, boating and Cruisin’ the Coast in his much-loved 1982 Chevrolet El Camino. He loved hanging out with his family and friends and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Avila Morano and Lois Ann Simons; sister, Joan Ann Dahl; and nephew, Ronald Morano Jr.

He is survived by his brothers – Paul Morano, Jr. (Cara), Ronald Morano (Carolyn), and David Morano (Tammy); and sister, Ruth Carnley (John), as well as 14 nieces and nephews, 45 great nieces and nephews and numerous great great-nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Ocean Springs. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
