John Morris Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory on Feb. 14, 2026.
John Floyd Morris, 81, passed away on February 13, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Ashtabula.

He was born in Floyd Co., KY on October 4, 1944, the son of Edward and Ella (Hall) Morris.

John made his way to Ashtabula in his younger years, where he met and married the love of his life, Mary Ann Morris. Together they shared more than 50 years of marriage. He dedicated most of his career to Rock Creek Aluminum, where he worked as a machine operator.

John was truly one of a kind. He often began his mornings with a simple and steady reminder: "It's just another day." He found joy in life's simple pleasures of browsing Goodwill and flea markets, cars, fishing, and tending to his garden. His yard was always a point of pride, never left unkempt. He was also a proud member of the Masons for more than 30 years.

John is survived by his daughter, Beula (Tom) Needham, grandchildren, Tommy (Lizzie Mihelich) and Nicole Needham; great-grandchildren, Alexis Hagler and Lily Needham; siblings, Don Ray, Walter, and Charlie Morris; and his his best friend, Harold Pierce. He also had a strong bond with his son-in-law, Tom.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann Morris; brothers, Hassel Boggs and James Morris; his sisters, Beulah Tacket, Deanna Morris Jordan, and Gertrude Boone.

In following John's wishes, no public services will be held at this time.
