Bobbie Barnes Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory on Feb. 10, 2026.
KINGSVILLE - Bobbie Jean Barnes, 77, passed away on February 7, 2026 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.

She was born on November 27, 1948 in Urbana, AR, the daughter of Corbin and Mary Alice (Bridges) Kendrix and had been an Ashtabula resident since 1966.

Prior to her retirement, she worked many years in the laundry department at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home, where she received recognition for her hard work and dedication.

A longtime member of Peoples Missionary Baptist Church, her faith was very important to her. A true sports fan, Bobbie loved all the Cleveland sports team as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes and rarely missed a chance to watch a game a cheer them on. She stayed on top of current events by always talking on the phone or reading the paper. Bobbie was the best cook and loved baking. She enjoyed every minute she could spend with her grandkids and loved to go out to eat with her family, especially at her favorite dinner spot, The Golden Corral. She also loved the soft look of her favorite colors, pink and peach.

Her survivors include her husband, Robert Barnes; her son, Rocwrick "Roy" (Bernetta) Barnes; three grandchildren, Rodwrick Barnes, Jr., Tyrone Barnes, and Kortny Webb; 9 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Wallace, Linda Fay Hill, and Glenna Sue Kendrix Pendleton; two brothers, Eddie Kendrix and Corbin Kendrix, Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, including Lenora Barnes-Boysaw whom she was especially close to; and two special angels that helped as caregivers and were always there for her, Amanda Campbell and Kardrea Goodwin.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends and family will be received Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 9:30-10:30AM with a service to follow at 10:30AM at Peoples Missionary Baptist Church, 3837 West Avenue Ashtabula. Rev. Dr. German Womack, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, North Kingsville, OH.

Memorials may be made to Peoples Missionary Baptist Church, 3837 West Avenue, Ashtabula or Reserve Care (formerly Hospice of the Western Reserve), 1166 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula, OH 44004
