John Motta

John Motta, 81, of Chester, NH, passed away Thursday March 23, 2023, in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. He was born on October 5, 1941 in Methuen, MA, a son of Frank and Mary (Quaglietta) Motta. John was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1959. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. John was the President of Motta Autobody and Sales in Methuen, MA. He enjoyed playing cards and golfing. John loved Corvettes and motorcycles. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Judith Motta of Chester; four sons, John and his wife Frances of Sandown, NH, Earl and his wife Eileen of Strafford, NH, Thomas of Chester, NH, and Wayne and his wife Anne Marie of Methuen, MA; eight grandchildren, many great grandchildren, one brother, Frank Motta Jr. and his wife Linda of Bradford, MA; two sisters, Elaine Vincent of Springhill, FL and Marilyn Spitalere of Methuen, MA; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 30 2023 from 4 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Burial with Military Honors will be on Monday April 17, 2023 at 1:00pm in Great Hill Cemetery, Route 121A, Chester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Derry Garden Club.
