John Joseph "J.J." Murphy
March 21, 1971 – August 24, 2022

MIDDLESEX – John Joseph "J.J." Murphy, 51 passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. He was born in Wilson County to the late Robert Murphy and Peggy Davis Murphy. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Robbie Murphy, Jr., Cindy Murphy, Kim Murphy Jordan and Tommy Murphy.

J.J. enjoyed the small things in life; good laughs and great food. His favorite color was blue. He was fascinated with Astronomy and Science. J.J. inspected airplane circuit boards for many years until he decided to become full time caretake for Emma Jean. He was a wonderful husband and loving father. He loved his family and his cats. He was always tinkering with some kind of electronic even building the engine of his Trans Am which he roared through the streets with in his younger days. He always had a good joke to make you laugh and always knew just what to say and when to say it. He was a gentle soul with a heart of gold and will be deeply cherished in the memory of those he leaves behind.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Emma Jean Griffin; daughter, Serena Jean Frazee (Amy Williams); niece and nephew, Melissa Hough and Jeffrey Hough and many dear friends.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory.
