Buddy Vann "Buddy" Manning

Buddy Vann Manning, husband, father, mentor and friend went to be in the arms of our Lord on October 8, 2025 at 74 years of age. Buddy was born in Wilson County to the late William David & Marie Whitley Manning. Buddy honorably served his country for over 7 years in the US Air Force. Professionally, Buddy owned and operated Industrial Services of Wilson as a highly talented machinist. He was a Deacon at MidPoint Church in Middlesex, NC and served as President of the EAA for the Wilson, NC Chapter. Everyone who knew him, knew that Buddy was one of the smartest and most skilled people around. There was no problem that he couldn't solve, often with solutions made by his own hands. Buddy enjoyed spending his free time with the love of his life, Lyndi. His 48 year marriage to Lyndi is what some would call a fairy tale – always by her side, they built a beautiful family together, traveled the world, and in the end, he spent his last moments in her gaze. As the doting and committed Papa, Buddy could be found at every dance recital, swim meet, wrestling event, and soccer game. He and Lyndi hosted Camp Nanapa every summer, inviting all of their grandkids for an action packed week of carefully planned adventures. His commitments also carried across to his church family, where he proudly served by driving the church bus and serving at church events. Buddy set the example for what it means to be a Godly man; how to provide, how to teach, how to love and how to show up when it matters most. He showed his love and care everyday through thoughtful action for those around him. He was the pillar of strength for his family and his presence will be sorely missed.

Funeral service will be at MidPoint Church, 5407 NC 231, Middlesex, NC on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 3:00pm with a visitation from 2:00pm to 2:45pm prior to the service.

Buddy leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved bride of nearly 48 years and the love of his life, Melinda "Lyndi" Manning; his children, Shannon Manning (Amy), Jeffrey Manning, Deida Robinson and Jamie Manning; his grandchildren, Ryver Robinson, Brandyn Robinson, Ammarie Robinson, Harrison Manning, Aelijah Cantey, Ivy Manning, Raegan Manning, Piper Manning, Haley Manning and his siblings, Jeanine Corbett (Keith) and Brenda Whitley (Steve). Buddy was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Wayne (Vicki) Manning, and Linda (Carl) Denton.
