John Musch Obituary

It is with deep sadness that the family of John (Jack) Musch announce his passing on Thursday August 29, 2024 to spend eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jack was born on June 9, 1951 son of the late Paul and Muriel (Eastham) Musch in Rome, NY. He lived his entire life in Camden being raised on the family farm Braebrook where he learned his unrelenting work ethic which led him to construct his own home and many buildings on his property. Jack graduated with the class of 1969 from Camden High School Class where he ran cross country and was a member of the marching band playing the trumpet. After graduation he held a number of odd jobs including being a tree climber for Davey Tree Company. Jack married Ruthann Carletta on March 16, 1974. A union of 50 years. Jack tapped maple trees collecting the sap in Camden, Florence and Taberg area for Little Chief Maple Syrup for 25 years. The job Jack enjoyed the most was working with his Uncle Neil Wright when they joined forces selling firewood. Jack worked 30 years for Harden Furniture in the woodshop retiring in 2009. Jack volunteered as a coach for AYSO Soccer and for Camden Little League and Senior League organization for more than 10 years. He coached a Major League team with Ken Walker for 3 years where he was well taught. Their teams earned 54 straight wins. Jack then coached Senior League as his sons moved into that league where he coached a championship team. He enjoyed playing horseshoes with his partner Randy Spink and deer hunting especially with his son Jed. Jack and Ruthann began ballroom dancing in January 2005 once their sons went out on their own becoming members of several dance clubs, The Patrician Dance Club, The One Hundred Club and USA Dance Group #3066. They danced as often as possible including every weekend at various venues and attending Star Dust Dance weekends several times a year in the Catskills.

Jack is survived by his beloved family his wife Ruthann his sons Jed and Kristina of Camden and Tyrell and Kristin of Marlboro. His cherished grandchildren Brooke, Kendall, Cole, Keegan and Kaylee. His sisters Judy and Jim Sexton and Cathy and Ray Beebe both of Camden. His sisters in laws Dot Hornyak and Pat Enwright of Canastota and Teresa and Tim Thackrah of Canajoharie and his brother-in-law Charlie and RoseMary Carletta of Cicero. Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jack and Ruthann enjoyed a special and close friendship with Randy Spink who frequently welcomed them into his home and with Dottie and Jeff DeSimone who they met dancing, sharing many memorable vacations, dance events and just spending wonderful times laughing and enjoying each other's company.

The family would like to acknowledge Heather Miller for the special care and love she gave to Jack during the last 6 months.

Dear Ruth and Family,
We are so sorry for the loss of your husband and father. We loved seeing Jack at the dances and talking with you both. Jack was a happy guy and loved to joke around. We will miss him. We are praying for you for God's peace and healing. Love, Patty and Don DeRycke

First and foremost my prayers and love go out to the Musch family. There are a few words that come to mind about Jack. #1) Faithful to God, Ruthann and family and Harden´s.
#2) Dedicated to whatever baseball team Jed and Tyrell played.
#3) A man of lots of wisdom in many areas especially baseball
#4)A man whom would encourage anyone

Myself and my children have been blessed to have been a part of the baseball family for years which the Musch´s were a part of for decades. It was always so nice to meet up with them at Byrne Dairy getting ice cream when we´d be back in town.

Love and prayers,
Cindy Dunn Moses
