John W. Mutz Sr.

John Walter Mutz, Sr. age 73, passed away peacefully on January 6th, 2026, at home surrounded by his loved ones.
John was born on November 2, 1952, in Milwaukee, WI. to Robert and Gloria (nee Knight)
John was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
John spent much of his career building his business, Mutz Mfg., where he was the founder and owner for over 25 years.
In his free time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, up north at the cabin, fishing and hunting, but most of all talking silly with his boys.
John will be known for his unique sense of humor and making others laugh.
John is preceded in death by his parents Robert P. Mutz Sr. and Gloria L. Mutz (nee Knight).
He is survived by the love of his life, Elizabeth "Beth" Mutz (nee Spoerke), who he married on 11/13/1971, their 3 children; John (Kari) Mutz, Jr., Michelle (Patrick) Walsh, Michael Mutz; and 4 grandchildren, Jackson Mutz, Bennett Mutz, Brady Walsh and Owen Walsh.
He is also survived by his siblings; Robert Mutz, Jr., David (Kathy) Mutz and Nancy (Jeff) Mueller, as well as numerous family members, cousins and friends.
Come join us to celebrate John's life, on February 14th, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 3:00pm.
It will be held at the Bridlewood Clubhouse, 786 Bridlewood Dr. In Hartford. Lunch will be provided.
