John Vincent Neville, 55, of Elk Grove Village, IL passed away peacefully at his home on August 31, 2025. John was a fun-loving friend to everyone he met, as well as a loving and caring son, brother, uncle, great uncle, and cousin. John was born February 6, 1970 and is a 1988 graduate of Palatine High School in Palatine, Illinois.
Vinny or John John, as he was affectionately known, loved being with his extended family and took great joy in grilling, fishing, golfing, and playing the guitar with his favorite nieces, nephews and slew of cousins and second cousins. John was at his happiest on a lake or on a golf course. He was a die-hard sports fan, always cheering on the Chicago White Sox, the Chicago Bears, and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
John was preceded in death by his father James Joseph Neville and his nephew Thomas Martin Gleason.
John is survived by his loving mother Joan E Neville; his siblings Mary (Bob) Gleason; Jim (Kris) Neville, Denice (Jim) McMahon and Kathy Harold. His memory lives on in his nieces and nephews Meghan McMahon, Sean (Haley, and soon to be baby boy Wyatt) McMahon, Michael Neville, Kelly Neville, Maggie Gleason, Neil Harold, and Leah Harold; his great nieces Kieley and Jaelyn Neville, as well as the many cousins and second cousins who love him.
A celebration of John's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 120 Ela Street, Barrington, IL. The family will receive friends at the Church from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
