It saddened me greatly to learn of John's passing. I served with John in US Customs Service for several years and was very fond of him. He was a true patriot and a dedicated law enforcement officer. I pray that he finds eternal peace in the Lord. My condolences go out to his family. May God bless. - Gary Wright

quite a man and quite a laudable citizen and military figure. i went to high school with him but did not know him well. Now I wish I did after reading his obituary and his remarkable life of service to our country and his family and communities. Rest in Peace, John

John and I shared a long military legacy and so he was part of our band of brothers! I always enjoyed our time together where we had a lot of laughs looking back on our careers and solving all of the political challenges of the day with our collective wisdom. Post our careers we both loved serving the veterans we served with through volunteerism.
Meg and I will miss him but he and his family will always be in our hearts!

I grew up with John on lee street. Went to our lady of Mt. Carmel and Neumann with him.
Didn´t see him again till our 5oth. High school reunion. I had no idea of what a life he lived.
RIP John what a life well lived !

My condolences to the New family. Johnny & I were childhood friends. One of the smartest kids I knew. We always thought , Johnny would read up on something , then come to the corner , & talk about it, & we would just shake our heads, wondering , how he knew this stuff. God bless you Johnny, who ever thought that you & I would be proud Paratroopers from Lee street. I always knew you would do great things in life, & as a disabled VietNam Veteran , I thank you for always helping others. May the Lord bless your soul , & it is an honor to have grown up with you, but also to have you as a brother in arms . RIP my brother , until we meet again. I was sad to learn of John´s passing. I worked with John in the early 90´s at USCS SAIC Mobile. He was a valued mentor and inspired me to never settle for less. A true patriot who loved God, country, and family. John was more than a co-worker; he was a friend, and I will miss him. Rest in Peace John and may God Bless and comfort your family during this difficult time.
