John E. Noller, 65, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024.
John was born January 2, 1959, in Topeka, the son of Leonard and Agnes Glotzbach Noller. He graduated from Seaman High School where he participated in football, basketball and was a yell leader. In 1983, John and Leslie Ann Schneider were united in marriage enjoying 41 years together.
John's very first job was running a fireworks stand. He worked at the Windjammer Inn and for Pepsi Cola before beginning his painting career working for L.F. Miller Construction, W.W. Schrempp Construction and Dan Hodges. He later owned his own company, Noller Painting and Construction. John was most proud of his work on the renovation of the old Karlan Furniture building at 900 Kansas Avenue, now the home of HTK Architects, while working for Fox Builders. John was an outstanding carpenter and was proud to teach these skills to his son, Sam. John finished out his working years at Oak Creek Senior Living.
John enjoyed volunteering his skills to help at Most Pure Heart of Mary School, building handicap ramps to the portable classrooms, and at Hayden Catholic High School there were various projects including the storage building for the football practice field.
John enjoyed the simple life of a country boy, fishing, hunting, going to the drag races, sprint car races and camping at Mill Creek. He played Santa for many years and loved his dogs. More than anything, John loved his family and friends and he will be greatly missed.
Survivors include John's wife, Leslie; son, Sam; brother, Bob Noller (Bonnie); sister, Linda McDonald (Cleo); sister-in-law, Mary Noller; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Cindy Noller, brothers, Dan Noller and Jim Noller and his wife, Dianne, and his sister-in-law, Madelene Noller.
Family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, (where John's exceptional carpentry and design skills are highlighted in the chapel and gathering area) 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Midland Care and to Helping Hands Humane Society, sent in care of the funeral home.
