James "Kirby" Cameron

James Kirby Cameron, 65, Topeka, Kansas, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025.
Kirby was born in Topeka, on August 30, 1960, the son of Alan and Alice Lueb Cameron. He graduated from Hayden Catholic High School in 1978 and attended WTI in 1992. Kirby married Tammy Thompson on July 15, 1995, at the Gazebo on the Kansas Expo Center Grounds in Topeka. He was a PC Technician for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas and the Computer Store. Kirby enjoyed fishing, going to the casino and any sports related to the Jayhawks, Chiefs and Royals. He especially loved watching sports with his sons and picking on his sister who rooted for opposing teams.
Kirby is survived by his wife, Tammy; children, Andrew, Austin and Sawyer; siblings, Tim Cameron (Sandy), Patti Jackson (Maurice) and Libby Hermanson (Jim); sister-in-law, Betsy Thompson; nieces and nephews, Piper, Ali, Grace, Reece, Robert, Becca, Cody, Camden and Carter; Uncle, Ross Harrison; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Mike Cameron, David Cameron and Anne Bartron; parents-in-law, Don and Eileen Thompson, Sr.; brother-in-law, Don Paul Thompson, Jr.; and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, where memorial service will be at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pawsitive Tails and sent in care of the funeral home.
