In Loving Memory of John Randall O'Quinn, Sr.

John Randall O'Quinn, Sr., born March 11, 1939, a lifelong resident of Wheeler County, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, after an extended illness. Born and raised in the heart of Georgia, Randall was known for his love of animals, western movies, work ethic and most of all-his family and community.

He was predeceased by his parents, J.B. and Dorothy O'Quinn; his first wife, Martha Ann O'Quinn; his sister, Shirley Clegg; and his sons, John Randall "Randy" O'Quinn, Jr., Dale O'Quinn, and Terry O'Quinn.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Cherlynn O'Quinn; his sister, Sandra Hamilton; daughters, Abby Herrera (Jay) and Christie Shaw; and son, Aaron "Lee" Conner (Janet). Randall also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Brian O'Quinn, Brendan Smith, Symphony Horne (Hunter), Harmony Shaw (Brayden), Joshawa Shaw, Bryce Conner, and Beau Conner; and one great-granddaughter, Shiloh Horne. He is fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Angela Harbin, Thomas "Bubba" Harbin, and Brian Hamilton, as well as his lifelong friend, "Chico."

Randall built his life on the values of hard work, frugality, and community. With the help of his father, he opened and operated O'Quinn's Auto Parts Service Center, a business that became more than just a workplace-it became a gathering spot for neighbors and friends to swap stories and share laughs. Whether folks needed parts or just a friendly conversation, they knew they were always welcome at O'Quinn's.

Randall spent countless hours raising and feeding birds and coon dogs-a hobby that brought him joy and camaraderie. He rarely missed a poultry or livestock sale, and many remember spotting him there every Saturday, always in his element. He made many friends over the years.

Having grown up during the Great Depression, Randall lived by the mantra: "You never finish, you just quit." He was known for his frugality and wisdom, often saying, "You might need it later," before tossing anything away. Despite his hardworking nature, in later years he expressed the heartfelt wish that he had spent more time with family; a sentiment that speaks to the deep love he carried for those closest to him.

Randall's legacy is one of grit and unwavering dedication to his family, his friends, and the community he called home. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at Towns Funeral Home on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 6-8 PM and the service will be held at Alamo Church of God on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
