John Orum Obituary
John H. Orum, 94 of Sanford passed away Thursday September 14, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday (9/21/2023) at New Life Bible Church, where he will lie in state beginning at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Orum was born in Guernsey Co, OH, son of the late Louis E Orum and Mabel C Woodburn Orum. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Edwards Orum; two sons, Dan Orum and Jack Orum, and his sister, Shirley Syfrett. John was a Veteran of the US Navy, was a Boy Scout Leader, a member of The Gideons, was active in the Prison Ministry for many years, taught Sunday school, sang in the Church Choir, was a founding member of New Life Bible Church.
Mr. Orum is survived by his children, Ruth Cardilli, James Orum, Kathy (Pete) Karstaedt, Elizabeth Pierce (Greg), Mary Elizabeth Rackley (Jason), Lawrence Orum (Ming Chu), and a daughter in law, Kathy Orum; seventeen grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home.
