John W. Perkinson, 70, of Martinsville, Indiana, passed away at his residence on Saturday, October 25th, 2025. His life began on Friday, November 5th, 1954, in Madison, Indiana, when he was born to John Clinton Perkinson and Velva Joyce (Crook).
John dedicated much of his life to construction working many years alongside his brother-in-law, J.T. Cleary, at Cleary Trim, where he took great pride in his craftsmanship and the projects he helped build. He continued working until his health declined and he retired on disability.
He was a longtime and proud member of the American Legion Post #230 where he enjoyed connecting with friends, playing cards and singing karaoke. John had a passion for music, and he especially loved playing guitar and singing. He also enjoyed fishing and trying his luck with a weekly lottery ticket.
John is survived by his loving mother, V. Joyce Mayle of Martinsville; two sisters, Connie Cleary and Dee Haltom, both of Martinsville; his brother, Clint Perkinson and wife Kerry of Florida; his daughter, Rhia Perkinson of Indianapolis; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Clinton Perkinson.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service in his honor on Saturday, November 1st, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Nebo Memorial Park in Martinsville, where he will be laid to rest.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center. Fond memories and condolences are encouraged to be shared with John's family online at www.nealandsummers.com
