John L Pinter

John L. Pinter, age 91, of Dorchester, passed peacefully into eternal life at Aspirus Hospital in Medford on Monday, June 16, 2025.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester, with Father Arockia Amirtha Raj Stanislaus officiating. Private Family Interment to follow at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, June 20 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.
John was born on December 21, 1933, the son of Wilfred and Marie (Gadke) Pinter in Downers Grove, IL. He graduated from Dorchester High School. On June 16, 1954, John was united in marriage to Janet Schumacher at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2022. Together they owned and operated Pinter's Packing Plant.
John graduated from meat cutting school in Toledo, Ohio. He then worked as a meat cutter at Wenzel's Farm Sausage in Marshfield. They moved to Dorchester and owned and operated Clover Farm. John purchased property and established Pinter's Packing Plant on County A. He moved the plant into Dorchester in 1970 and retired in 1996.
John was active in the Dorchester Housing Corp and Dorchester Park. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and playing cards. John was an active member of St. Louis Catholic Church. He especially loved and cherished his family.
John is survived by his six children: Jean (Dean) Ruppert of Clintonville, Dan (Terri) Pinter of Webster, TX, Beth (Jeff) Specht of Colby, Al (Kathy) Pinter of Stetsonville, Sandy (Mike) Wick of Tomahawk and Brian (Terri) Pinter of Amherst Junction; 26 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother, Robert; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janet; two sisters: Margaret Troyer and Dorothy Tinjum.
