John Plavelil (P.T. John) was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and servant for his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He was born on March 4, 1934, in Edayaranmula, Kerala, India, the eldest son of the late Thomas Varghese and Aleyamma Thomas. In 1964, he married his beloved wife, Susy John. Together, they lived and served the Lord in Bombay for several years, worshiping at Fort Assembly and Santacruz Assembly. They later immigrated to Bahrain, where he served as an elder at the Believers Brethren Assembly in Majlis, Bahrain.
In 1983, Brother P.T. John and Sister Susy immigrated to the United States, initially settling in New York, where he served as an elder at India Gospel Assembly. They later moved to
Sugar Hill, Georgia, his final earthly home, where he faithfully served the Lord as an elder at Lake Lanier Bible Chapel.
Brother P.T. John was steadfastly committed to regular prayer, diligent study, rightly dividing the Word of God, and supporting the Lord's workers in His vineyard. A man of strong principles, he devoted his life to the service of God's people.
