John Bruce Pluckhahn Jr.

John Bruce Pluckhahn, Jr. passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at the age of 71.
John was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin on May 1, 1950 to the late John Bruce Pluckhahn, Sr. and Rose Mary Sattler Pluckhahn. He is survived by his brothers, Bill, Bob and Charlie Pluckhahn; sister, Susan Pluckhahn Goetzinger and his very best friend, Ann Golden.
Playing golf was John's ultimate passion in life and it allowed him to enjoy many meaningful friendships over the years. He was a member of Cowan's Ford Country Club where he played as often as he could. John retired at age of 62 from TIAA, with the dream of making a living playing golf. Although this dream did not come true, he truly cherished any day that included walking 18 holes.
John also enjoyed dancing, live music, riding his Harley Davidson, going on road trips and bowling. In 1985 he achieved the dream – a perfect score of 300.
First and foremost, John was a caring and loving friend. Throughout his life, John rose above any challenge put before him – which allowed him to enjoy life to the fullest. His positivity and warmth made him the kind of person you wanted to have in your circle. He treasured the people in his life and embraced every moment with those he loved the most. The devotion he showed for his friends kept him connected to them throughout his entire life. All who loved John will never forget his smile, quest for knowledge, and thoughtfulness.
A celebration of John's life will be held in the home of Ann Golden at 2601 Croydon Rd, Charlotte, from 5 – 7 pm on Thursday, March 10th.
John's family is incredibly grateful for the care and support provided by Jennifer Favors, Heather Youngblood, Dr. Claude Griggs, the entire staff at Levine & Dickson Hospice House, and so many of John's friends.
