John is survived by his children, Christina Myers (Scott), Carie Garrett (Dan), John Poczontek, and Joe Poczontek (Emily); his grandchildren, Rainer, Sarena, Evelyn, Carlee, Crew, Griffin, and Julian; his siblings, Jean Gibson (James), Linda Keiper (Butch), Helen Robertson (Charles), Robert Poczontek, and Patty Modon (James); numerous nieces and nephews; and former spouse and mother of his children, Diane Davis. He was preceded by his parents and his brother, Joe Poczontek.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 12:15 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
