John Joseph Polizzi, born on April 25, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, embarked on his final journey to join his beloved son, Michael, in eternity on February 15, 2026, in St. Charles, Missouri. He was a devoted family man whose love for his family shone brightly throughout his life.

John’s professional journey began with a shared dream with his wife, Karen, as they opened the Hair Syndicate in 1979. Their salon became a cherished part of their life. Later, he transitioned into the world of advertising, founding and operating Smart Shopper for many years, showcasing not only his entrepreneurial skills but also his unwavering dedication to success until his well-deserved retirement.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, John was a person of loyalty and commitment. He shared life with his beloved wife, Karen, celebrating fifty wonderful years of marriage, a true testament to love and partnership. Together, they had three children. Surviving him are, his wife, Karen Polizzi, his children, Francesca (Kris) Wood and Joe Polizzi, and continued this legacy with his grandchildren Sam, Amelia, and Will Wood. John’s family was undoubtedly his proudest achievement.

John was known for his loyalty and strength.  A lover of old cars and antiques, he found joy in estate sales and the timeless beauty of clocks. His favorite pastime included riding around in his cherished '56 T-Bird, which he worked on with his son Joe, along with his '65 Pontiac LeMans. He enjoyed vacations spent on the beaches of Mexico with his family, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Those who were fortunate enough to know him will forever remember his annual performance of Alice Cooper's "Ballad of Dwight Fry".

John left an indelible mark on the lives of countless friends and extended family. Always outspoken (even when Karen was kicking him under the table and shaking her head), he brought a dry sense of humor and a supportive presence to those around him. He was a pillar of strength for his family, exemplifying what it meant to be independent and loving.

John Joseph Polizzi joins the ranks of those he lost too soon, including his dear son, Michael Polizzi; his parents, Joseph and Frances Polizzi; his siblings, Vito Polizzi, Joe Polizzi, Rose Brennan, and Mary Peters; along with his siblings-in-law, MaryAnn Polizzi, Linda Polizzi, Tom Brennan, Tom Peters, and Jan Polizzi. Each held a special place in his heart.

In his passing, John leaves behind the memories of a life well-lived, a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication that will continue to resonate through his family for generations to come. His absence will be deeply felt, yet his spirit will undoubtedly remain for all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
