John Richard Pollard Jr. (Dick), 84, of Raleigh, NC was born on April 15, 1939. Son of John Richard Pollard Sr. and Mary Catherine Sullivan Pollard of Trenton. NJ.
Dick graduated in 1960 from Fordham University with a pre-law degree. He was a gifted baseball player and played on the baseball for Fordham. They have one daughter, Sister Monica Faustina, of the Sisters of Life, living in Washington DC. Dick worked for the FBI and in sales. Dick, Jean, and Monica were my neighbors when I lived in Brentwood. We enjoyed many fun times with them - playing cards, going to the Wooden Nickle after one of the kids ballgames, neighborhood cookouts, and parties. I had not seen Dick in several years, but I will always remember the fun times with him. Monica, may you always feel your Dad´s pride and love. Jean, I´m wishing you, Monica, and the family feelings of comfort, moments of peace, and memories of joy. "Grief changes shape, but it never ends. It´s a passage, not a place to stay."

Dick and Jean were my neighbors in the early 1970´s and their daughter, Monica grew up with my children, Cary and Jason Rowells. He was always ready to give a helping hand transporting my kids to events, and I was always grateful to him for that as a single mom. I remain close friends with his wife these many years later and send prayers to her and Monica during this difficult time.
