John was an environmental control chemist for Republic Steel (Buffalo, NY), and LTV Steel (East Chicago, IN and Cleveland, OH). He was a skilled amateur bowler, and enjoyed baseball, big bands, crossword puzzles, steam locomotives, and had a marked appreciation for chocolate chip cookies, and butterscotch cream pie.
