Other than his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Jason, Warren Rodney, and Aron Derrick Poynter,
John D. is survived by his daughter, Jude Poynter of Berea, KY one sister, Brandy Lamb and one brother, Brian Keith Poynter, and his wife Ashley all of Berea, KY. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be 5-8 PM on Tuesday, July 1st, 2025, at Davis & Powell Funeral Home with funeral services on Wednesday July 2nd, 2025, at 2:00 PM Rev. Artie Alexander will officiate. You may view the service live at www.davisandpowellfuneralhome.com burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
