John C. Prakash

We bid farewell to our beloved John Prakash, who departed this earthly life on Wednesday April 24, 2024, just shy of his 80th birthday. Even as we grieve, we take much comfort knowing that he has been called home to his eternal rest with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born May 10, 1944, John was a faithful servant of God, guided by the Word of Christ and the love of his family. He was a faithful husband and provider to Seraphine for almost 50 years, a loving father to Sunita and Ranjit, and a cherished grandfather to Kathryn, Judith, and Kevin. He is survived by his siblings– Prema, Meena, Shekar and his wife Pratheebha, and several nieces and a nephew.
John served his Savior each day with an unwavering and unshakable faith. Throughout his life, John exemplified the courageous and confident assurance of a biblical hope, as he followed Jesus Christ wherever he was called. Besides his dedication to God and family, John was known for playing table tennis and cricket. He settled for avidly watching cricket in his later years.
John earned his Mechanical Engineering degree in Calcutta, India and for 25 years he ran a manufacturing company undertaking defense contracts while teaching Bible Studies at home and preaching in different churches. At 60, he got his Master's in Biblical Studies from Hindustan Bible Institute. John was 65 when he moved to the US and worked a wide range of jobs in his golden years. Like Caleb, he sought to scale the hills of Kothagiri in India and the seven hills of Worcester for Christ, even with severe heart failure.
John's God rescued him from physical assailants and cardiac-related collapses. His bold life testifies to the grace of God who granted him eternal life and sustained him through many a trial for his glory. Though no longer with us in body, his memory will live on as his legacy of faith inspires the generations to come. John's funeral service commemorates his life and celebrates his Savior. We look forward to one day being reunited with John in the presence of our Heavenly Father forever.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a period of visitation on Saturday, April 27th,from 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. at Chapel on the Hill, 145 Memorial Drive, Shrewsbury. Funeral service will follow at 9:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. Interment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please consider supporting the Chapel on the Hill, where Seraphine attends, with your prayers and gifts.
