Donald E. Olson, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Christopher House of Worcester surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marianne L. (Schemel) Olson.
Don was born on June 29, 1944, in Northborough, MA and was the son of the late Oke and Gunv0r (Brandt) Olson. He lived in
Northborough for most of his life before moving to Millbury. He graduated from Algonquin High School in 1962 and then enlisted
in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. During his time there, he played the saxophone in the Army Marching
Band.
After his service to our country was completed, he began his employment at Digital Corporation in Marlboro. He was known for
his strong work ethic and was well liked and respected by his coworkers.
Don was a man of few words who let his actions do the talking. He had a kind heart and soul and was a true gentleman. He
leaves behind a legacy of service and kindness to others. He had a strong Catholic faith and was a parishioner at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Northborough. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Don is survived by his loving wife Marianne. Sadly, in addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Kristen E.
Olson who passed away in 1994.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation period at the Chiampa Funeral Home, 5 Church Road, On the
Common, Shrewsbury Center, on Saturday, October 25h, from 9:00 - 10:00 am. Funeral service will follow. Interment Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don's honor, may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O box 7023. Merrifield VA, 22116-7023 https://diabetes.org/
