SPENCER: John R. Head, 87, of Spencer died Wednesday, Feb. 11th in his home. He leaves his wife of 65 years, Gladys L. (Bowren) Head, his son, John M. Head of New Braintree, his daughters: Cheryl A. Kotval of Whitinsville, and Karen M. Comeau and her husband Michael of Oakham, his grandchildren: Christopher Head and his wife Kelly, Liliana Kotval, Eric Comeau and his wife Bethany, Renée Lombard and her husband Benjamin; his great grandchildren: Luke, Breanna, Charlotte, Madison, and Callan. He is predeceased by his sister, Marilyn Leary; daughter-in-law, Shelley Head; and son-in-law, George Kotval.
John worked at UPS in Shrewsbury for 30 years, prior to retiring in 1998. He was born in Worcester, the son of John F. and Margaret (Hickey) Head.
Private funeral services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Spencer Rescue Squad, 6 Bixby Rd., Spencer, MA 01562.
