John Charles Pullen, 76, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on May 15, 2025, with his loving wife, Dianne Skerry Pullen, by his side. Born in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, John was the cherished son of Ruth (Wheeler) and Carroll Pullen. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend, remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, sense of humor, and deep and lasting friendships.
John enjoyed a long and successful career as an IT professional, working with mainframe computers at Ryder Systems and Assurant Corporation until his retirement. A lifelong fan of Boston sports, he also enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and softball in his earlier years-and more recently, stickball every Saturday morning with friends in the parking lot of the Cascades. But above all, he treasured time spent with his family.
John was a loving Dad to Matt Cohen and his wife Jen, Chris Cohen and his wife Kris, and Phil Cohen and his wife Katie. He was a devoted stepfather to Karen Skerry Craig and her husband Dave, and to Kath Skerry. Affectionately known as "Grampa John," he will be deeply missed by his grandchildren: Jaelyn, Braden, Marley, Emmett, Graham, and Winnie Cohen, and step-granddaughters Emma and Lila Craig. He is also survived by his brothers, Joe Pullen and Jeff Pullen and his wife Laura He was predeceased by his parents, his brother James, and his sister Joanne.
A funeral service will be held on June 13th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home, 7951 South US 1, Port St. Lucie, FL 34952.
