Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rhone Funeral Home on Nov. 5, 2025.
John David Pyeatt, age 74, of Elkhart, Texas, joined our loving Lord and Savior on Tuesday, the 4th day of November 2025, after complications from an accident. He is now rejoined with his grandson, Brody, who is sitting in his lap in Glory. "David" as he was best known, was born on the 13th day of October 1951 in Crockett, Texas to parents John Edward Pyeatt and Allene Kellum. David graduated from Grapeland High School in 1969 and went on to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
David was a hard worker who could fix anything. He was an excellent carpenter and mechanic, who would help anyone in need. After a long career, David retired from T.D.C.J. as a truck driver. He was a devoted Christian and family man who took great pride in his children and grandchildren. He looked forward to attending all their sporting events and school functions. David also loved creating memories with his family whether camping or grilling for everyone at barbeques in his backyard. The outdoors was David's favorite surroundings, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing and tending to his plants in his garden and greenhouse. David was loved by many and will be missed forever.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Allene Pyeatt, sister Charlene Phillips, and his grandson Brody Pyeatt.
Left to cherish all the fond memories are his loving wife of 48 years Tammie Pyeatt; daughter, Monica Foster and husband Ronnie; son, Josh Pyeatt and wife Kelly; brothers, Fred Pyeatt, Edward Pyeatt; sisters, Olene Ferguson, Laura Ellis and husband Sam, Patricia Pyeatt, and Anita Stringham. His grandchildren, Cami Pyeatt, Nick Pyeatt, Keira Pyeatt, Libby Pyeatt, Levi Pyeatt, Harper Pyeatt, Michael Foster and wife Alicia, Melissa Hopp, Aiden Foster, and Elijah Foster, will also feel the void his absence leaves along with his 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
