John Ramer (DDS), beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025 at the age of 72 years. He was surrounded by family as he went home to be with the Lord.
Dr Ramer, "Jack," was the devoted husband of Linda (ne Beversdorf) for 49 years. He was the dear father of Heidi Ramer and John (Erica) Ramer, and the proud grandfather of Hunter (10), Bryce (8), and Cameron (5).
Jack is also survived by his sister Patricia (Gary) Gray, his sister-in-law Jean Ramer, his brothers-in-law of Bill (Diane) and John Beversdorf. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Christine and Joseph Ramer, his brother James (Jean) Ramer, and his sister-in-law Bonnie (James) Merlet.
Jack lived a life of service, both to those around him and to his country. Jack grew up in Wisconsin Dells and proudly served as a dentist in the United States Air Force, traveling the world with his wife and children, including North Dakota, Idaho, Mississippi, Germany, California, and Louisiana, before returning to his home state of Wisconsin. There he continued serving veterans at the VA Medical Center in Milwaukee and many other patients at Mequon Dental Clinic. He also made several trips to El Salvador with church to care for the dental needs of local communities. He loved practicing dentistry, both the craft and the way that he could care for people, and enjoyed sharing his skills to help patients and fellow dentists learn new skills.
Jack brought joy to others – he was quick with a warm smile or a self-deprecating joke. Jack really loved people and assumed the good in them, and coupled that with a natural enjoyment of life. He liked doing practical things to help people and taught his children the value of tools, measuring, and a willingness to get your hands dirty. A devoted Wisconsin Badgers fan, he enjoyed cheering on his team, but found his greatest happiness cheering for his grandchildren as they grow and play.
Jack loved the Lord and showed that through his actions and was ever thankful for Jesus and the hope of eternal life. He will be missed by all those he has left behind, but we are thankful for the true and lasting home he has entered.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, at Brookfield Lutheran Church, 18500 W. Burleigh Rd, from 1:00 PM. until the time of service and military honors at 2:00.
Memorials may be made to Blood Cancer United.
