John Ramirez, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was born on January 30, 1955, in Marlin, Texas to John and Lucy (Sirpian) Ramirez, Sr. He passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in Lubbock surrounded by his loving family at the age of 70. At a young age, the family moved to Slaton where he graduated from Slaton High School. He worked for Covenant Medical Center for many years before retiring.
On November 15, 1998, John married Soveida. Together, they created a warm and inviting home, acting as steadfast pillars for their family. As devoted members of Rock City Church, John and Soveida shared their faith and enjoyed time with their family. His passions included golfing and traveling, and frequent trips to the Flea Markets, where he loved to discover unique treasures. A steadfast supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, his enthusiasm for the team became a shared joy among family and friends.
John is survived by his loving wife, Soveida; his children, Sonia Garcia, Vanessa Honesto, Frederico Vasquez, Hollie Riggs, Vanessa Ramirez, and Chris Ramirez; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Rudy Ramirez, Billy Ramirez, Mary R. Maldonado, Mona Ramirez, Josie Ford, Gloria Anzley and Frances Camargo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucy Ramirez; son, Daniel Ramirez; sister, Ruby Clemons; and granddaughter, Tiffany Churchwell.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Rock City Church. Services will be at 1:00 pm, Monday, November 17, 2025, at Rock City Church with interment to follow at City of Lubbock Cemetery.
