John "Jack" Ramsey Sr. was born January 1, 1936 and passed away April 28, 2025.
Jack was a graduate of St. X High School and a record setting basketball star, a Marine veteran, and a retired employee of the US Post Office. He was an avid sports fan, but especially UK. He previously coached girls' sports at St. Barnabas school and was an advocate for all women's sports.
Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Burns Ramsey; mother, Elizabeth Ramsey; and brothers, Ronald and Donald Ramsey.
He is survived by his four children, Mike Ramsey (Becky), Tina Easley (Kevin), Robert Ramsey and John Ramsey Jr. (Cindy); nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; siblings, Patricia Schardein (Mike), Kenny Ramsey, and Raymond Ramsey (Jenny).
Visitation will be from 2:00pm - 8:00pm on Monday, May 5 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 6 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Donations can be made to American Diabetes Association.
