William Sanderfer Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

William "Bud" Paul Sanderfer, Jr., age 82, passed away on September 6, 2025.

Born in 1943, Bud was a proud graduate of DeSales High School, Class of 1961. He spent his professional career in real estate, first as a builder and real estate broker, and later founding Sanderfer Appraisal Service. Known for his incredible work ethic and sharp wit, Bud worked throughout his life and earned the respect of all who knew him.

Bud had a deep love for his family and friends. He was a devoted father and husband. He was the type of dad who showed up to every game, whether he was on the field coaching or keeping score behind home plate. A loyal fan of University of Louisville athletics, Bud found joy in sports, spirited competition, and spending the occasional afternoon at Churchill Downs.

He loved to entertain, host gatherings, and share laughs with friends and family. He exuded charm and charisma, was quick with a joke, and famous for his one-liners.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents William and Josephine Sanderfer and his beloved wife, Ann Marie.

Bud is survived by his four children, William "Bill" Sanderfer (Melissa), Mathew Sanderfer (Maranda), Milissa Logsdon (Joel), Brian Sanderfer (Brandy); grandchildren, Lauren, Will, Allie, Clark, Nick, Emily, Joanna, Kyle, Cole, and Isla.

Visitation will be held at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home (3800 Bardstown Road) on Friday, September 12, from 2 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will take place at the Church of the Ascension (4600 Lynnbrook Drive) on Saturday, September 13, at 10 a.m., with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery (1600 Newburg Road).

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association. The family would like to thank all of the nurses and workers at The Lantern at Morning Pointe for providing excellent care to Bud.
