Ronald Kamenish Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home - Bardstown on Feb. 6, 2026.
Ronald Kamenish, 60, passed away Wednesday, 02/04/26 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Ronnie was born August 23, 1965, 5 minutes prior to his identical twin Donnie, to Frank E. and Elizabeth A. (Sheeley) Kamenish, Jr. at St. Joseph Infirmary in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from St. Barnabas Catholic School in 1980 and then St. Xavier High School in 1984. Being a part of the football teams in both schools are fond memories, especially winning the 1979 Toy Bowl.

He then went on to Jefferson County Technical College to become qualified as a journeyperson with focus on HVAC and working with Fetzer Refrigeration Company in 1985 as an apprentice installation trainee. Beginning in 1986, he became employed by Vittitow Refrigeration Company as a Service and Installation Technician. In 1999, Ronnie changed direction a bit by becoming a certified electrician and began employment with Wagner Electric Company, Inc. Using the skills learned through these employments and hands on experiences, he went on to work at Ceva Logistics, Garda Security, and Lowe's.

Ronnie enjoyed being active and involved. He was a confirmation leader for several years with 8th graders at the grade school, worked catering jobs with Que-Masters alongside his buddy Bob Young, and helped friends and family with whatever was needed as best he could. Ronnie was a good listener, great at knowing how to lift someone's spirits when they were having a difficult time. He was a jokester and made friends easily and maintained those friendships. 'Mo' was heavily involved with a wonderful group of guys calling themselves the PourBoyz and their families. Becoming 'Pop' has been one of the most rewarding experiences and he cherished any time he could spend with the grandchildren.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory: identical twin brother, Donald Kamenish (Diane); sisters, Carolyn Ryan (Gary) and Suzanne Kamenish; sons, John Herbert (Megan) and Aaron Herbert (Brittni); nieces, Jessica Lindholm (Reece), Katie Ryan, and Lauren Ryan; nephews, Hunter Hatfield and Haydn Hatfield (Haley). Also sharing in his legacy are 6 grandchildren, Allie, Sadie, George, Grayson, Tate, and Grant; great nephews: Ryan, Cameron, Aiden, and Cooper; and great nieces: Harper, Thea, Harmony, and Junie; cousins (especially Gary and Joyce who have gone above and beyond), Pour Boyz, and numerous friends throughout the years. Ronnie was preceded in death by both parents and brother, David Kamenish.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church at 5505 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40291. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery at 1300 Ellison Ave, Louisville, KY 40204.
