John Gerald Reardon, 62, of Roseville passed away peacefully at home on May 30th following an illness.

Born in Detroit, he was the son of the late John and Ellen Reardon.

John graduated from Finney High School and was employed at Knight Carbide for over 30 years. He had a passion for the game of baseball. He played and coached Little League, pitched for his high school team, and went on to play softball well into his mid-30s. John passed his love of baseball to his son, Johnny, who he coached as a child. Like his dad, Johnny continues to play adult softball, as baseball was their special bond.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Antoinette (nee Gambino) Reardon; son, Johnny Reardon; sister, Carol (Rick) Statham; brother, Bill (Pam) Reardon; sister-in-law, Sharon Reardon; brother-in-law, Tony Orlando; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many friends.

John was preceded in death by his brother, Pat; sister, Mary Ellen Orlando; sister Cathy Wnuk; and brother-in-law Richard Wnuk.

In memory of John, a funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 9th at 9:30 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, located at 641 Chrysler Drive, Detroit.
