John W Richard Jr. 1938-2025
A lifetime resident of Colts Neck, NJ, John was found deceased on Tuesday November 4, 2025.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, John Richard and Florence Richard and his beloved wife Betty.
He and Betty enjoyed traveling with their best friends Patty and Henry Larkiewicz. They visited Hawaii many times and spent the cold weather months together in the Florida Keys.
John was the owner of Atlantic Sanitation. He retired at an early age and was able to enjoy his second house located in upstate, Dushore, PA. There he was able to entertain family and friends and once hunting season came into play, many enjoyed trying to outdo one another in getting that trophy deer.
His wife Betty loved her road trip to the mountains, because that meant that Hillside Farms would be visited for a special ice cream treat.
Once Betty passed, Joan and Wally on their way to the farm, would stop at Hillside surprising John with a tub of their flavor of the month.
All that knew him were aware that he was an avid reader, the best fan that the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team ever could have had, but his greatest joy came from supporting the Boy Scouts of America. He always spoke so highly of them and followed the family tradition of becoming an Eagle Scout himself.
Visting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The interment will follow at the family plot St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
