Fortuna Davis, 1930 - 2025
Fortuna "Fay" Davis passed at the age of 95, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, leaving memories of a life well-lived.
She was born in New York City, NY in 1930 to Victor and Caroline Silano. She loved to play with dolls, listen on the radio, and enjoyed spending time with her friends. She didn't like cats, and she only tolerated dogs. Fortuna attended Washington Irving High School. She then worked for J.P. Morgan Trust, where she would meet her husband of 62 years, Malcolm Brooks Davis.
Fortuna was a devoted mother to Claudia and Vanessa Davis, her pride and joy. Fortuna honored her family and was a loyal friend. She had a sharp mind, and a stellar memory.
Fortuna was preceded in death by her husband Malcolm Brooks Davis, and is survived by two daughters and two grandsons.
The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 9 a.m. followed by interment at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
