Angier, NC: Mr. John Danford “Danny” Roberts, Jr., age 75, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC, surrounded by his loving sons. Funeral Services will be 6:00PM-Monday, June 30, 2025 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. Rev. Kelvin Blackman will officiate.
Mr. Roberts was born on October 28, 1949 in Harnett County, NC to the late John Danford Roberts, Sr., and Callie Marie Overbee Roberts. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Vickie Bell Byrd Roberts. Mr. Roberts was a retired farmer, and worked in drywall for many years. He was also a US Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. He loved to fish, listen to loud music, and was an avid Duke Fan.
Survivors include his sons, Jonathan Roberts and wife, Sandy of Franklinton, NC, and Jason Roberts and wife, Meagan of Angier, NC; grandchildren, Brianna Bonds, Henry Roberts, Ernest Roberts and Elly May Roberts; sisters, Shirley R. Byrd and husband, Charlie of Benson, NC, Mattie R. Wood and husband, Tony of Four Oaks, NC; brothers, Neil Richard Roberts and wife, Tracy of Benson, NC, and Johnny Roberts and special friend, Teresa of White Oak, NC; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends following the funeral service on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.
