John H. Roethel, 76, of West Bend found peace on Saturday, May 25, 2024. He was born on May 24, 1948, to the late Harold and Harriette (nee Imler) Roethel in Milwaukee, WI.
John, best known as Hortie, was a cat lover who loved a good cocktail with friends and had an infectious smile. John's legacy to family & friends will always be as an extremely generous human being who treated everyone with kindness and love. A legacy that will be carried forward through his grandchildren.
Those John leaves behind to cherish his memory include his two children, Chris Roethel, along with wife Becky, and Anthony Roethel and his wife Jackie; eight grandchildren including Mason, Eden, Caleb, Isaac, Noah, Evelyn, Ainsley & Owen; sister Ellyn and her husband Tom Mueller; former wife Connie Roethel; and a life's worth of friends.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Cedar Bay West and all his co-workers & close friends for their help and care throughout the years.
