John Louis Ross

Minister John L. Ross a great man of God entered into eternal glory and into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ early Thursday morning on July 10, 2025, at the age of 72. He was born on September 21, 1952, and educated in the New Orleans Parish school system. He was baptized at an early age. A devoted follower of Christ, John lived a life marked by faith, love and service. John's love for God was evident in his kindness, generosity and unwavering commitment to his family and community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Roosevelt Ross Sr. and Bernice Gatlin Ross and his three brothers Larry Ross, Jerry Ross and Roosevelt Ross Jr. John leaves to cherish the memories with his loving wife Deborah Peterson Ross, his only son Maro Ross, his three stepchildren, Michael (Deion) Griffin, Michelle (Michael) Cargo and Tori (Jerome) Jordan, his two siblings Mary Ross Ware and Charles Ross Sr. and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. John was a proud and dedicated member of Celebration Church Lower St. Bernard under the leadership of Pastor David Gonzalez and Pastor Ricky Murphy where he served as a prayer counselor and usher and actively participated in community outreach. His legacy of faith and love will continue to inspire those who knew him.
