John Rumer Obituary
John was born December 4, 1933 in Fairfield to Raymond and Margaret (Rice) Rumer. After graduating Tech High School in 1953, John joined the US Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League, was an avid bow hunter and enjoyed fishing. John was a self-employed as a Paint Contractor until his retirement.
Survivors include his sons: Rick (Ann) Rumer of Des Moines, Rodney Rumer of Johnston; grandchildren: Kim Koep, Amanda Thomas, Keaton Rumer, Kaden Rumer; and great grandson, Benjamin Koep.
John was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Janyce Rumer; and sister, Barbara Pfiffner.
Memorial contributions are being made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Iowa Chapter, 1501 42nd St. Suite 230, West Des Moines, IA 50266.
