Anthony (Tony) Michael Rumer, 83, died peacefully on September 10, 2025, at Garden County Nursing Home in Oshkosh, Nebraska. A resident of Lisco, Nebraska since 1974, Tony was born February 1,1942 to Pal and Esther Rumer.
Tony grew up on the family farm, northwest of Oshkosh. He attended Kansas University and worked at Campbell’s Soup in Omaha where he met his wife, Jean. Tony and Jean married on April 11, 1969, in Plattsmouth. Their love for the outdoors and Tony’s passion for farming led them to Lisco in 1974, where they resided until 2020. The farming industry began to slow down, and Tony went to work at Cabela’s in Oshkosh and was there 15 years until his retirement. He was honored for his loyal dedication and unwavering commitment during his time at Cabela’s. Tony and Jean were thankful to be honored as Lisco Oldtimers for those who have lived in Lisco the longest.
Tony had a love for farming, hunting, and the great outdoors. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch and listening to the sounds of nature. Tony was an avid dog lover, as there was often a dog on his lap. Tony was fond of toy tractors and took immense pleasure in his collection.
Tony is survived by his children, Patty (Bill) Kimmie, Debbie Skoglund, Tammy Varilak, Michael (Susan) Rumer, Ladonna Rumer, and his cherished grandchildren.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents Pal and Esther Rumer, and his brothers, Ronnie, Jim, and Darrell.
