John F. Ryckman, 87, of Hardin, went to his heavenly home on March 29, 2025, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital following an extended illness. He was born on September 8, 1937, to Frank and Zelma (Holden) Ryckman in Andersonville, IN. He graduated from Kinnard High School, class of 1956. John worked as an Assembler in the plastic Dept. for Delco Remy for 25 years and Nicholson File for 15 years making files. Mr. Ryckman was a former member of the Lapel Masonic Lodge. He married his first wife Alice (Egan) Ryckman in 1960 and she preceded him in death after 50 years of marriage in 2010. He then married Deloris Jean (Cook) Ryckman in 2015, and she survives. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union and the South Meridian Church of God where he was the Head Usher for many years. (Feel free to list any special interest here) John is survived by his loving spouse of seven years, Jean, daughters also survive him, Teresa Cooper (Mark) Hardin, Kentucky, and Rosemary Taylor, Indianapolis, sister, Marjory Boughton (Jim), Fortville, grandchildren, Jaqulin Jackson, and Benjamin Taylor, great-grandchildren, Autumn and Harley. Besides his first wife Alice, he was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Irene Craig, and, Juanita Shirley, his brother, Bob Ryckman. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Loose Funeral Home & Crematory at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Steve Wimmer officiating. Private family burial will take place at the Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown, Indiana on Monday. Friends may call at Loose Funeral Home on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Memorials are suggested to the South Meridian Church of God.
