John D. Ryhal, 84, of Rose Avenue, died Sunday, July 20, 2025, at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born in New Castle on April 28, 1941, the son of the late Paul and Roberta (Kerr) Ryhal. Mr. Ryhal was married to the late Elizabeth A. (Smith) Ryhal, who died October 15, 2022. John worked as a Police Officer in Alliance, OH, and then was a Teacher and Principal for Stanton Middle School for over 30 years. He loved woodworking and carpentry and enjoyed watching tv, hunting, working out, and riding his bike.
He is survived by one son, Kevin J. Ryhal of New Castle, and one brother, Terry Ryhal.
In addition to parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by four brothers, Paul Ryhal, Richard Ryhal, Robert Ryhal and Thomas Ryhal.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 3 PM to 4 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A memorial service will be celebrated Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 4:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Chapel. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate.
