John Charles Salzmann

John Charles Salzmann, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday October 31, 2023, at his home in Shawano. John was born on April 29, 1950, in Shawano to the late Roy and Elfiera (Eggert) Salzmann. He attended and graduated from Shawano High School. On June 6, 1970, he was united in marriage to the love of his life Rose Kroner at St. James in Shawano. He had a dedicated career in Sales for most of his life. John was quite the character and was always a fun person to be around. John was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He always enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, and Bucks. John took great pride in coaching both of his children in the sports they participated in. He loved his children with all his heart. John also had a passion for planting and gardening. Music was a big part of John's life and extended his love by supporting his brother's music career. He adored all music genres, especially Blues and Rock. John loved old fashioneds with whiskey, ginger ale, and a Tom & Jerry's. John will be dearly missed.
John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rose; children, Jennifer Salzmann of Austin, Texas and Justin (Leah) Salzmann of Appleton, Wisconsin; special daughter, Heidi Salzmann Jackson; and grandchildren, Preston Swint, Kinsley Swint, Logan Salzmann and Gavin Salzmann. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
John is preceded in death by his brother, Richard Salzmann and parents, Roy and Elfiera.
Memorial service for John will be held at noon on Tuesday November 21, 2023, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church 6205 Alderson Street Weston, Wisconsin 54476. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 am and continue until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to donate to SAM25 Homeless Shelter.
