John James Sawyer, 84, of Plattsburgh, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at the Essex Center in Elizabethtown.
He was born on September 10th, 1941 , the son of Henry A. Sawyer and Doris C. (Hamilton) Sawyer.
John was a corrections officer, retiring from Dannamora Correctional Facility. He was an avid Yankees fan. Always asking his best friend, Bryce, how the Yankees did.
He enjoyed going to the movies and politics.
He is predeceased by his parents, siblings, Robert Sawyer and Susan Sawyer.
He will be survived by his sister-in-law Mabel (Robert) Sawyer, his long time friends, Bryce Bissonette and Cheryl Spinner and Charlene who was his caretaker and friend.
Calling hours will be on December 4th at Brown Funeral home between 1pm followed by service at 2pm.
