LYNN, Ind. – John Scott "Scottie" Scales, age 44, of Lynn, Indiana, died Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Reid Health.

Born November 16, 1980, in Richmond, Indiana, to John Robert and Patty Lewis Scales, Scottie was a life-long resident of this area. He was a 2000 graduate of Richmond High School. Scottie worked during high school at Taco Bell, and most recently worked at Richmond High School. He enjoyed tinkering on cars, fishing, and sitting by the fire relaxing with friends and family.

Survivors include his girlfriend, Lisa Noelker; mother, Patty Brockman; father, John (Grace) Scales; Lisa's children, Skyler Noelker, Christian Noelker, and Bailey (Dustin Rowe) Noelker; siblings, Jennifer (Chris) Hollingsworth, Martina (David) Phenis, Marietta (Chris) Bryant, Heather (Shannon) Mackey, Jessica Ramsey, Serina Scales, Samantha (Dylan) Holiday, Shawn Scales, and Jessup Groff; grandchildren, Corbin Rowe and Avery Rowe; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Russell Brockman; grandparents; and a cousin, Chad Shearer.

Visitation for John Scott "Scottie" Scales will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Alvey officiating. Burial will follow in Earlham Cemetery.
