John Scheibe Obituary

John Allan Scheibe, born September 16, 1954, was an Army brat. (father: Col. George Scheibe, mother: Donna Cavanaugh Alexander) He spent several years of his youth in exotic places like Jordan and Turkey. He loved the water, so it wasn’t surprising that he loved fishing, diving, and working in the marine industry. He was a service technician for the marine division of Rolls Royce for 30 years. He would tell you way more than you wanted to know about how to repair huge ship propulsion systems. Most of the last 20 years of his career was spent working in the Navy base in Ingleside.

He loved his children: James Scheibe (deceased Nov 2023), Robert Scheibe, Melanie Mincy, and Johnny Lovejoy (deceased Dec 2016). He really enjoyed his grandchildren, which is good considering he had 15, plus 6 great grandchildren. He lovingly referred to them all as “bonehead”. They enjoyed soaker gun fights, fishing, horseshoes, and much more.

John moved to Aransas Pass in 1998 and found a home here. He enjoyed woodworking and made beautiful bowls and such.

He is much missed by his children, siblings (Merri Edwards, Robert Scheibe, David Scheibe, and Bruce Scheibe), nieces, nephews and wife of 4 years, Evelyn.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas
